Why Rotterdam drives for it
Fogg’s services Rotterdam’s cargo vans, cutaways and light- and medium-duty box trucks — Transit, ProMaster, Express and Savana, Sprinter, Isuzu — from 27 bays 15 minutes away in Scotia. Preventive maintenance by route mileage and load, brakes and suspension sized for the work, NYS inspections, and billing per account.
The vans that run out of Rotterdam’s exit 25 and 26 warehouses work harder than their odometers show: full-rated loads, a hundred stops a day across Schenectady County, idling at every one, then the Rotterdam hills and I-890 at speed.
Brake pads that last 60,000 miles on a car last a fraction of that on a loaded Transit; rear leaf springs sag; batteries cook under lift-gate and inverter loads; and the Duanesburg Rd frost heaves hammer front-end parts.
Maintaining them like cars is how fleets end up in our breakdown lane.
Our commercial program sets intervals by how each unit works — route miles, engine hours, load — and inspects the things vans fail: brake wear per axle, tires for the cupping and belt separation heavy loads cause, suspension bushings, driveline, upfit wiring and lighting.
High-roof vans and light- and medium-duty cutaways fit our bays, and we handle NYS inspections in the same visit.
Everything records to the unit’s history and bills to the account monthly, with staged drop-offs so two or three vans rotate through while the rest of the fleet runs. Pricing is quoted per account.

Need vans & work trucks handled — worth the drive from Rotterdam?
Book before you head out and we'll have your bay waiting — most work is finished the same day, so it's one 15-minute trip, not two.
01Do you work on high-roof Sprinters and 14-foot box trucks from Rotterdam, or only cars and pickups?
Both. Our 27 bays were planned for fleet work, so high-roof Sprinters and Transits, cutaway box trucks and medium-duty Isuzus from the Rotterdam warehouse corridor are routine, alongside the pickups. If you run something taller or heavier than a medium-duty box, call (518) 348-7764 first and we will confirm the fit before you send it.
02Do you work on high-roof vans and box trucks, and what is your size limit?
Yes. Cargo vans including high-roof Transit and Sprinter, cutaways, and box trucks to 19,500 lbs GVWR fit our lifts and bays — E-350/E-450 and Express cutaways, F-450/F-550 chassis, and Isuzu NPR-class cab-overs. Larger medium and heavy-duty trucks we refer honestly to a heavy-truck facility.
03Do you service Mercedes Sprinter and Metris vans?
Yes — gas and diesel Sprinters and the Metris, including the diesel emissions systems behind most Sprinter faults on short urban routes: DEF dosing, EGR carbon, and DPF regeneration. Diagnostics on diesel units are $95–$200, credited to the repair, and maintenance follows the Mercedes schedule with measurements logged per unit.
04How often should a delivery van get an oil change?
For a loaded van in stop-and-go Capital Region delivery work, every 5,000 miles on full synthetic, even if the oil-life monitor says it can go longer — the monitor underestimates idle time and short-trip cold starts in a Schenectady winter. Every visit includes measured brakes and tread, which is where loaded vans surprise people.
05Does my 14,500 lb box truck need a NYS inspection, a DOT inspection, or both?
Every New York-registered vehicle needs the annual NYS inspection, with fees that vary by weight class. If the truck operates in commerce at over 10,001 lbs GVWR it also needs the annual DOT inspection under 49 CFR 396.17. Many box trucks need both, on different calendars — we schedule them into one visit and track both expirations on the account.
