The straight story
Filters are the part most often sold when they are not needed and skipped when they are. Our rule is simple: we show you the old filter.
An engine air filter that is gray with Route 50 dust and pollen is replaced; one that still passes light is put back and noted for the next visit.
The cabin air filter is the one most drivers do not know they have — it sits behind the glove box, filters everything that comes through the vents, and after a Capital Region spring of pollen and a winter of road salt it is usually packed solid, which is why the defroster seems weaker and the cabin smells musty in November.
It is replaced in minutes and makes a noticeable difference in airflow and in how fast the windshield clears.

Oil filters are included in every oil change and matched to the oil interval: a full-synthetic 7,500-mile interval uses a filter rated for it, not the economy filter sold for 3,000-mile changes.
We install WIX and Mann-Filter professional-grade filters, or the Motorcraft, ACDelco or Mopar original-equipment filter where the engine is particular about it — some modern turbocharged engines and most diesels are.
Fuel filters matter most on diesel: Power Stroke, Duramax and Cummins engines run a fuel filter and water separator that must be changed on interval, typically every 15,000–22,500 miles, because water and debris reaching a modern high-pressure injection system is a repair measured in thousands, not the $100-plus the filter costs.
We drain the separator at every diesel PM and change the filters on schedule.
Transmission filters, where the transmission has a serviceable one, are replaced with the fluid during a transmission service, and the newer sealed units are serviced to the manufacturer’s procedure.
For fleets, filters are the quiet backbone of the A/B/C preventive-maintenance schedule: engine and cabin filters on the B visit, fuel filters and water separators on diesel at their interval, and every filter change logged to the unit so an auditor or a warranty administrator can see the history.
One standardized filter spec per vehicle class means the right part number is on the shelf when the van is in the bay, and the monthly invoice shows filters as a predictable line, not a surprise.

Good to know
Common questions about filters
How often should the engine air filter be changed?
Most manufacturers say every 15,000–30,000 miles, and Capital Region dust, pollen and winter road grit put most vehicles at the shorter end.
We do not change it on a calendar — we pull it, hold it up to the light, and replace it if it is loaded. You see the filter before we decide.
What does a cabin air filter do, and do I really need one?
It filters every bit of air that comes through your vents and defroster. After a spring of pollen and a winter of road salt it is usually packed, which weakens airflow, slows the defroster and makes the cabin smell musty.
Replacing it takes minutes and most drivers notice the difference immediately. An activated-charcoal version also cuts exhaust odor in traffic on I-890.
Why are diesel fuel filters so important?
Because a modern diesel injection system runs at tens of thousands of psi and does not tolerate water or debris.
The fuel filter and water separator on a Power Stroke, Duramax or Cummins must be changed on interval — typically every 15,000–22,500 miles — and the separator drained at every service. Skipping a $120–$280 filter set risks an injector or pump repair measured in thousands.
Do you use OEM filters or aftermarket?
Both, by engine. WIX and Mann-Filter professional-grade filters meet or exceed OE specification for most vehicles and are what we install by default.
Where an engine is particular — many modern turbocharged engines, most diesels, some European cars — we install the Motorcraft, ACDelco, Mopar or OE-supplier filter. Either way, the part number matches your engine, not a close-enough fit.
