OE, OE-equivalent or economy

Three grades of part. We use two.

The grade is chosen per vehicle and per part, and it is named on the quote.

Original equipment

The factory part.

Motorcraft, ACDelco, Mopar and the OE supplier’s box. The right answer where the engine or system is particular: many turbocharged engines, most diesels, some European cars.

Used when fit, calibration or warranty history calls for it.

OE-equivalent

Meets or exceeds the spec.

Akebono, Wagner, Bosch, Interstate, WIX, Mann-Filter, Sylvania: professional lines that often supply the factory under another label. Our default for most vehicles, usually at a better price, with the same warranty.

Our default for most cars, trucks and fleet units.

Economy

The cheapest box on the shelf.

Pads that squeal, batteries that quit in their second winter, filters that collapse, bulbs that last a season. Cheaper on the invoice, more expensive by spring.

We do not install it.

Before you call

Parts questions we answer every day.

Do you sell parts over the counter?

No. We are a service center, so we supply and install the part together. One warranty covers both, and the part number is checked against your vehicle first. Call (518) 348-7764 and we will point you to a source.

Can I bring my own parts for you to install?

We install parts we source. That lets us back the repair with our 24-month / 24,000-mile warranty and check the part number first. Our installed prices are published, so you can compare.

Are aftermarket parts as good as OEM?

The professional lines we install meet or exceed the original spec, and several supply the factory. Where a vehicle is particular, we use the Motorcraft, ACDelco or Mopar part and say so on the quote. We don’t install economy parts.

What warranty comes with the parts you install?

Our 24-month / 24,000-mile parts-and-labor warranty on qualifying repairs, twice the 12-month standard most local shops offer. The brand’s own warranty, on a battery for example, applies on top. Terms are on your invoice.

How do parts work for a fleet account?

One part number per vehicle class, so identical vans get identical parts and the right part is on the shelf. Parts are replaced on the PM schedule, logged to the unit, and itemized on one monthly invoice.
