In plain English

Where Goodyear earns its keep here

Goodyear’s strength in the Capital Region is breadth: there is a Goodyear tire for nearly every vehicle that comes through our 27 bays, from a Corolla to a one-ton plow truck.

On the passenger side the Assurance MaxLife is the mileage champion — an 85,000-mile treadwear warranty and a built-in wear gauge — and the right choice for a commuter who runs Route 7 to Latham every day and wants the fewest tire purchases over the life of the car.

The Assurance WeatherReady is the all-weather option with the three-peak mountain snowflake for drivers who want real snow capability without a seasonal set, and the Assurance ComfortDrive is the quiet, comfortable touring tire for sedans and minivans.

On trucks, the Wrangler name covers the whole range of work.

The Wrangler Workhorse HT is the quiet highway tire for half-tons that commute; the Workhorse AT and Fortitude HT add capability for trucks that see gravel and towing; and the Wrangler DuraTrac is the aggressive, severe-snow-rated all-terrain for plow trucks and contractor rigs that need a tire with bite on an unplowed job site in February.

For a dedicated winter set, the WinterCommand and WinterCommand Ultra cover cars, SUVs and light trucks, with studdable versions for rural drivers inside New York’s October 16 to April 30 window.

For fleets, Goodyear’s LT and commercial Wrangler sizes back many of our Super Duty, 2500HD and Ram 2500 service-body specs, and Goodyear’s national distribution means next-morning availability on the sizes we do not keep on hand.

Goodyear is also one of the brands whose national commercial-account programs fleet-management companies recognize, which matters for the Enterprise and Element vehicles we bill directly through AutoIntegrate: a standardized Goodyear spec per vehicle class is easy to authorize and easy to audit on the monthly invoice.

per tire, mount & balance

Tire prices vary by size and brand — we quote options at good/better/best. Flat repair ~$35. Rotation $25, free with most other services. TPMS sensors typically $65–$120 each installed. Seasonal changeovers on your own wheels are priced like a rotation.

Tire installs about an hour; flats, rotations, and changeovers while you wait.

Questions about Goodyear

Which Goodyear tire lasts the longest?

The Assurance MaxLife, at an 85,000-mile treadwear warranty — the longest of any tire we routinely install.

It is a touring all-season built for commuters who want the fewest replacements over a car’s life, and it has a wear gauge molded into the tread so you can see remaining life yourself.

Is the Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady a true winter tire?

No — it is an all-weather all-season with the three-peak mountain snowflake, which means it passed a severe-snow traction test and handles a plowed Capital Region commute well. It does not match a dedicated winter tire like the WinterCommand Ultra or a Blizzak on ice.

For hills and early commutes, run a winter set; for one-set convenience, the WeatherReady is a strong choice.

What Goodyear tire do you recommend for a plow truck?

The Wrangler DuraTrac in the correct LT load range, usually E on a Super Duty or 2500HD. It is severe-snow rated, bites on unplowed driveways and job sites, and holds up to the weight of a plow frame.

For an HD truck that mostly runs highway and tows, the Wrangler Workhorse HT is quieter and wears longer.

Do you install Goodyear tires on fleet vehicles billed through a fleet-management company?

Yes. Many Enterprise Fleet Management and Element vehicles we service run a standardized Goodyear LT spec per vehicle class, authorized and billed directly through AutoIntegrate. The FMC approves the tire line and size once, and every replacement on that class follows it.
