Albany County

Why Albany drives for it

Fogg’s services Albany’s government, municipal and postal fleets — state-agency pool vehicles, city trucks, postal LLVs and NGDVs — 30 minutes west via I-90 and I-890 to 27 bays in Scotia. Purchase-order and FMC billing, audit-ready per-vehicle records, batched NYS and DOT inspections. Fleet accounts include the Postal Service.

Albany is the seat of state government, and its fleets answer to procurement.

A state agency, an authority, the city, a county department, or the postal stations working downtown and the uptown routes all need the same things from a shop: billing that fits a purchase order or a contract, a per-vehicle history an auditor can open and follow, inspections done in volume and documented, and vehicles back in service without a scramble.

We run that cadence today for the United States Postal Service, and we built the facility for it — 27 bays, 28,000 square feet, a Hunter alignment rack, staged scheduling.

Thirty minutes west via I-90, the Thruway to exit 25 and I-890 is farther than the shops around Central Ave, and it pays off in capacity: a dozen units staged on a Monday morning go through our bays and back by afternoon instead of trickling through a week.

NYS inspections and DOT annual inspections are batched by expiry; records are measurements, not adjectives; billing goes to purchase order, contract, FMC or one consolidated monthly invoice with cost-per-unit. Programs are quoted per account to fit your procurement rules, from a two-truck department up.

01Can Fogg’s handle the documentation a New York state agency in Albany needs for fleet maintenance?

Yes. Every unit carries a history with dates, mileage, measurements, parts and costs, exportable for audits and cost-per-unit reporting; invoices match your purchase-order or contract line items; and inspection certificates are kept per vehicle. We already meet that standard for the United States Postal Service. Tell us what your procurement office requires and we match the format.

02Can you bill a town, school district, or agency against a purchase order?

Yes. We invoice against your PO with the VIN, unit number, odometer, and fund or cost-center code on every line, provide W-9 and insurance certificates on request, keep your New York State sales-tax exemption certificate on file, and consolidate everything into a monthly statement that can be split by department. Quotes come on letterhead against your specification.

03Do you work under New York State contracts or cooperative purchasing?

We quote against published bid specifications and are set up to work under cooperative purchasing arrangements and state-contract-style terms, including a held labor rate and parts structure for the term of an agreement. Which contract vehicle applies depends on your entity and vehicle class — call (518) 348-7764 and we’ll walk through it with your purchasing office.

04Do you service USPS vehicles?

Our fleet accounts include the United States Postal Service and Oshkosh. Postal and other contract units are serviced to the specification the contract sets, with the records it requires, through the same 27 bays and priority scheduling as every fleet account here.

05What records do you provide for an audit or a board question?

Every unit carries a digital history with photos, measurements, and time stamps: what was found, what was approved by whom, what was repaired, parts and labor, odometer, and the invoice tied to your PO. We export it per vehicle or per department on request, and monthly statements reconcile line by line to the invoices.
