Custom quote

Quoted exactly for your vehicle before we start. Vans, HD pickups, and vehicles that need camber or caster kits are quoted the same way — up front, with the parts named.

About an hour.

If your car pulls toward the curb after a Schenectady spring, the potholes on Erie Blvd, Broadway and Route 7 are probably why. One hard hit can knock toe out enough to scrub a new tire’s inside edge bald within a few thousand miles.

Salt-rusted tie rods, ball joints and control arms will not hold a setting, so we check them before aligning. The Hunter printout shows each angle before and after, so you see the correction instead of taking our word for it.

What our alignments includes

Getting here from Schenectady

From downtown, take State St (Route 5) west across the Western Gateway Bridge into Scotia, then turn right onto Route 50 (Saratoga Rd) at the Mohawk Ave light by Collins Park — the Fogg’s Automotive campus is about a mile and a half up on Route 50.

From Mohawk Harbor, Rivers Casino or the GE side of town, Erie Blvd to Freemans Bridge Rd is quicker: cross the river and turn onto Route 50 north. Ten minutes either way, no interstate.

Questions

Do I need an alignment after hitting a pothole in Schenectady?

If the steering wheel is now off-center, the car pulls, or you hear a new clunk, yes. A check on our Hunter system shows whether the angles moved before uneven wear ruins a tire.

How often should I get an alignment?

Once a year is smart on Capital Region roads, plus any time you buy tires, hit a major pothole, or notice a pull. After the spring thaw on Route 7 is the most common time we see cars come in pulling.

It protects a $600–$1,000 tire investment.

Will an alignment fix my steering wheel vibration?

Usually not — vibration is typically balance, a bent wheel, or worn parts, while alignment problems show up as pulling and uneven wear. We check both, so you get the right fix rather than the one you happened to ask for.

Do I need an alignment with new tires?

Strongly recommended. If the old tires wore unevenly, the same misalignment starts eating the new set on day one. We check the angles and only charge for a full alignment if it actually needs correction.

Can you align lifted trucks and cargo vans?

Yes. The Hunter rack handles Super Duty and HD pickups, Transit and ProMaster vans, and cutaways within our lift capacity. Loaded work vans should be aligned close to their normal working weight, so tell us how the vehicle is typically loaded when you book.
